This project was my attempt at creating packaging for one of my favourite movies, “Phantom Thread”, in the style of a Criterion Collection release, which is a company that restores and designs physical releases for important classic and contemporary films. The story follows the tumultuous romance between an acclaimed dressmaker and his strong-willed muse in 1950s London. Referencing visuals from the film, my hand-sewn cover is deliberately elegant yet jagged to convey the tone of the plot’s central romance. Accompanying artifacts include a handwritten note from the character's first meeting and a short book. The book includes information about the production of the film, articles, interviews, and costume sketches. The cover and inside spreads are influenced by a book about poisonous mushrooms that is integral to the film's plot.
